WORKSHOPS STARTING IN AUGUST 2019

Figurative Abstraction Workshop at Brian's StudioQ in downtown Toronto, ON (King and Spadina area)  SOLD OUT
9:30am-4:30pm Thursday/Friday Aug 15/16, 2019
$190.00 (includes model fees) Maximum 7 students

This exciting intermediate-to-advanced course will develop your ability to abstract from the human form, see shapes in the figure more clearly, develop more satisfying compositions that include the draped and undraped body, and develop a looser, freer approach to painting the figure.

Colour Theory for the Figure Painter Workshop  at Richmond Hill Group of Artists, Richmond Hill, ON
9:30-3:30 Saturday/Sunday, August 24/25, 2019
We have all had a class or two in colour theory, but how many actually understand how to put that knowledge into practice? This two day workshop will develop your understanding of the basics and the finer points of color theory and, more importantly, how to apply that knowledge to the painting of the figure. Work in acrylic or oils (traditional with odorless solvents please, or water soluble oils) on canvas or pages from a canvas pad.

workshops starting in September 2019
Brian took me from an absolute beginner in life drawing to a confident figure painter in 2 weeks. He is excellent at building confidence in his students with helpful insights and encouragement. Brian is an outstanding teacher (and a really nice guy).
