WORKSHOPS STARTING IN MARCH 2019
Zorn Palette Portrait Workshop at Don Valley Art Group, Toronto, ON
9:30-4:00 Saturday/Sunday, March 9/10, 2019
Anders Zorn (1860-1920) is arguably Sweden's most important painter. Throughout most of his illustrious portrait career he limited himself to a very simple palette of just four tubes (Vermillion, Yellow Ochre, Titanium White and a blue black). By utilizing this seemingly basic palette, the decisions around colour, intensity and value become much simpler and perfect flesh tones are easily attained. Work in acrylic or oil (odorless solvents only please) or water soluble oils and work directly with professional portrait models.

Colour Theory for the Figure Painter Workshop at Paint Ontario, Grand Bend, ON
10:00-4:00 Saturday/Sunday, March 30/31, 2019
We have all had a class or two in colour theory, but how many actually understand how to put that knowledge into practice? This two day workshop will develop your understanding of the basics and the finer points of color theory and, more importantly, how to apply that knowledge to the painting of the figure. Work in acrylic or oils (traditional with odorless solvents please, or water soluble oils) on canvas or pages from a canvas pad.
