WORKSHOPS STARTING IN MAY 2020
Zorn Palette Portraiture workshop at Prince Edward County Art Workshops, Baxter Art Centre, Bloomfield, ON
10:00am-4:30pm Friday/Saturday May/8/9, 2020
Anders Zorn (1860-1920) is arguably Sweden's most important painter. Throughout most of his illustrious portrait career he limited himself to a very simple palette of just four tubes (Vermillion, Yellow Ochre, Titanium White and a blue black). By utilizing this seemingly basic palette, the decisions around colour, intensity and value become much simpler and perfect flesh tones are easily attained. Work in acrylic or oil (odorless solvents only please) or water soluble oils and work directly with professional portrait models.

Brian is excellent about providing constructive regular feedback to everyone in the class. I am more comfortable taking risks because I know that he will tell me when they don't work and celebrate with me when they do. |
